อย่างไรก็ตาม ผู้ส่งออกจะต้องเลือกพาเลทที่ได้รับมาตรฐานสำหรับการขนส่งสินค้าไปต่างประเทศ โดยเฉพาะพาเลทไม้ที่จำเป็นต้องได้รับมาตรฐานการส่งออก เพื่อป้องกันปัญหาเรื่องความชื้นและแมลงศัตรูพืชต่างๆ  ที่อาจจะส่งผลต่อตัวพาเลทและสินค้าที่ขนส่งให้เกิดความเสียหายได้ 

จากข้อกำหนดข้างต้น ทำให้ผู้ส่งออกมีความยุ่งยากในการจัดเตรียมพาเลทไม้แบบใช้ครั้งเดียวที่ต้องได้รับมาตรฐานการส่งออก หรือเปลี่ยนแปลงไปใช้พาเลทพลาสติคแบบใช้ครั้งเดียวทดแทน ด้วยต้นทุนที่สูงขึ้น นอกจากนี้ผู้นำเข้าที่ประเทศปลายทางยังต้องมีภาระในการกำจัดพาเลทแบบใช้ครั้งเดียวที่ไม่สามารถนำไปหมุนเวียนใช้ซ้ำได้

ด้วยเทคโนโลยีในปัจจุบัน พาเลทพลาสติกที่ผลิตจากวัสดุรีไซเคิล มีความแข็งแรง ทนทาน และสามารถหมุนเวียนใช้ซ้ำได้ ทำให้เกิดแนวคิดในการใช้พาเลทดังกล่าวสำหรับการส่งออกสินค้าไปต่างประเทศ และสามารถส่งคืนได้ที่ประเทศปลายทาง เพื่อลดต้นทุนของพาเลทแบบใช้ครั้งเดียว รวมทั้งลดภาระในการกำจัดพาเลทของผู้นำเข้า ซึ่งเป็นการส่งเสริมด้าน Green Supply Chain และนโยบาย ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) ของผู้ที่เกี่ยวข้องทุกฝ่าย

‘Circular, Recycled Plastic Pallets for Asia Pacific Region Export”‘ The alternative solution to reduce cost and safe the environment for exporters.

Today’s Logistics and Distribution businesses have the need to use pallets in variety of activities especially in the business of oversea exports where change in the management of logistics and distribution have resulted in an ever increasing need to adopt a One-Way Pallet solution to save time and manpower from product handling.  Nonetheless, exporter must select pallets that are fit for international shipment, and if wooden, must adhere to international standard pallet requirement for export to prevent issues with moisture content and pests that can directly affect the integrity of the pallet and products.   

Due to the aforementioned requirement, exporters either face with the difficulty of arranging for one-way wooden pallets that must conform to the international export standard or switch to higher costing one-way plastic pallet for export.  Moreover, there are burdens for importers at the destination country to dispose non-reusable one-way pallets.     

With present day technology enabling plastic pallets produced from recycled materials to be strong, long lasting and reusable, it has given rise to the concept of using such pallets for international export with the ability to return them at destination country in order to reduce exporter’s cost while reducing importer’s burden of one-way pallets disposal.   Which in turn promotes Green Supply Chain and ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) for all parties involved.  

In addition, using recycled plastic pallets can help reduce the difficulty of preparing for wooden pallets that must meet international export standard. 

Most recently, LOSCAM (Thailand) Ltd., Asia Pacific leader in providing returnable pallet pooling service, have studied the aforementioned concept together with some manufacturers and exporters to rectify the restriction of one-way pallet and improve the efficiency of export logistics by using service network in different countries to enable recycled plastic pallets to be reusable.  This will help significantly reduce the cost of one-way pallets and promote ESG policy for both the exporter and the importer.
